# Fab: full product context > Fab reads the work already recorded in Cortex and Git. See completion rate, cycle time, and reopened work, with the evidence behind each reading. The CLI also reads local Git history. Your existing work supplies the evidence. Command: ```sh socra install @socra/fab-cli ``` Next step: run `socra fab report` from your workspace. ## Activity is only the beginning A busy agent can produce unfinished work, defects, and rework. Fab starts with recorded outcomes. Completed and canceled work stay separate, and reopened work stays visible. ## Compare like periods Compare equal time windows to see whether completion rate is rising and cycle time is falling. Related issues count together so splitting a request does not multiply its output. ## Follow the evidence Open the Cortex history behind a completed request. Inspect local Git revisions and resolution comments through the CLI. Use what changed to decide which constraint to improve next. ## Good to know ### What is Fab? Fab measures recorded delivery and improvement using existing Cortex lifecycle history and Git evidence. ### Do I need to run work through Fab? No. Work remains in Cortex and your repositories. Fab reads the history already there. ### What does reopened work tell me? It shows previously completed work that returned to an active state. Its timeline helps you investigate the reason; reopening alone does not prove a defect. ### What counts as completed? On the dashboard, a request counts when all its grouped issues are recorded done and remain done at the snapshot. Cancellation is separate. This records completion, not independent product acceptance. ### Will it change my code? Fab reads existing data. It does not dispatch agents, change repositories, or require an execution loop. ### Does it need another AI run? No. The measurements are calculated from existing records, without asking an AI to perform more work. ### How do I use it? Sign in to see Cortex measurements. For local Git evidence, install the CLI with `socra install @socra/fab-cli` and run `socra fab report` from your workspace. ### Does this prove exponential improvement? A sustained increase in delivery is useful evidence. Establishing productivity gains also requires comparable task difficulty, effort, and quality.
